Suerte is a 7 year old Paso Fino gelding.

Suerte is pronounced like swear-te and means "luck" in Spanish.

Suerte came to us in 2006 with a list of symptoms pointing to a possible neurological condition. He was
originally bought off a feed lot in Canada by another rescue, adopted into a wonderful home, but soon
began having problems. He foundered, lost weight, muscle, and his co-ordination. He also developed an
oozing sore on his tummy that refused to heal.

When his owner needed to go in for back surgery, she knew she needed to find him a new home. The
rescue that originally saved him had no space, so contacted us. We had room and agreed to take him.

Instead of a neurological condition we found that Suerte had a severe allergy to the alfalfa hay he was
eating! Within days of switching hay, the sore began to heal. Over the next several months he regained
weight, muscle tone, and his co-ordination. We couldn't even believe it was the same horse.

January 2, 2007: Suerte is now available for adoption! He is a spunky, active, fun horse that is looking for
a new home and a job. He leads, ties, grooms, and is okay to have his feet trimmed.

He is
not broke to ride.

Adoption fee: $300
